THIS IS THE FIRST EASTON PRESS EDITION OF THIS SET. YOU CAN TELL BY THE EMBOSSED LEATHER CARICATURES TO THE BOARDS AND BY THE SPINE ILLUSTRATIONS. AN INCREDIBLE SET IN PRISTINE CONDITION.
ABOUT THE BOOKS: These are the first sets done by Easton Press in the 90s. They are beautifully embossed on the boards for all editions and have the old gilt illustrations to the spines. Easton Press did later editions without the embossing, unfortunately, to save on printing costs. They were re-issued later with only 4 volumes, not the six like this set. Volumes included: THE EMERALD CITY OF OZ; THE ROAD TO OZ; DOROTHY AND THE WIZARD IN OZ; THE WONDERFUL WIZARD OF OZ; OZMA OF OZ; THE MARVELOUS LAND OF OZ.
CONDITION: Books are in PRISTINE condition for their age. All volumes are still in original shrinkwrap EXCEPT for THE EMERALD CITY OF OZ which is in near-perfect condition except for a couple of negligible rubs to the gilt endpages (SEE PICS FOR FURTHER DETAILS). NO ATTACHED BOOKPLATES, WRITING FROM PREVIOUS OWNER, ETC. It is a SPECTACULAR SET OF BOOKS.
